New Project Offers Swift Resolution Over Complaints Against Unregulated Media
A new project to 'guard the guardians' will be launched soon to offer some reckoning for victims.

Michael Leidig, who runs the news agency Central European News, announced plans for a news arbitration service for complaints against unregulated media organisations.
The announcement followed eight years of attempts to resolve disputes with The Guardian and BuzzFeed UK over alleged breaches of their own codes of conduct, ending in a ruling by The Guardian's Scott Trust in May 2023 that went against him. Leidig said that the process took no interest in the proof he had offered and that the decision was not published promptly.
The project is described as a network of guardians to watch the unregulated guardians that claim the authority to hold others to account.
